Selangor, 19 October 2025 – The Football Association of Selangor (FAS) has kicked off the S.E.E.D. (Sustainability. Education. Environmental. Development.) — a school-based programme that empowers children to take meaningful action to combat climate change.
Through hands-on learning about climate change, sustainable development, waste reduction, and actively participating in climate action via composting, S.E.E.D. extends FAS’s commitment to youth development beyond the football field, nurturing responsible and eco-conscious citizens.

Football is a universal language that connects people. Through S.E.E.D., we’re using that same spirit of teamwork and discipline to inspire sustainable action in schools and communities.
The S.E.E.D. programme is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
· SDG Goal 4: Quality Education
· SDG Goal 13: Climate Action
· SDG Goal 15: Life on Land
S.E.E.D. aims to foster eco-conscious habits and reduce schools’ carbon footprints across Selangor.

The programme activation, held alongside the Westports FAS Junior League Grand Final, reflects FAS’s holistic approach to youth engagement through sportsmanship, education, and environmental stewardship. The event was graced by YB Tuan Haji Azli bin Yusof, Member of Parliament (MP) for Shah Alam and Datuk Seri Dr Shahril Mokhtar, Vice President of FA Selangor, highlighting strong community and leadership support.
The pilot phase begins with selected schools across Selangor, focusing on hands-on projects and measurable impact, with plans to expand statewide in 2026. FAS welcomes partners, sponsors, and educational institutions to join this initiative for a greener and brighter future for Selangor and beyond.
